Biomimicry Australia is collaborating with Tim Angus (a member of our network) of Grimshaw Architects to explore the potential for Biomimicry to inspire innovative solutions for the masterplanning of a Major Activity Centre in Melbourne.

We asked:

How does Nature optimise density?

How does Nature optimise access to the sun?

How does Nature optimise connectivity?

Our research has taken us from the local ecosystem to coral reefs to rainforests, mangroves and back again to seek mentors to guide our approach.

​

We are also exploring how the Living Building Challenge can be applied to ensure a positive contribution to the community.
